Ghungroos or shalangai - ankle bells - are one of the most precious possesions of an Indian Classical Dancer. They complement your every step, every motion on stage - they can be loud, thunderous, and joyful, or as soft as a breeze. 
These the bells that I wore for my rangapravesham, or solo dance performance back in 2009. They are, by far, by favorite pair.
